# Advanced Goal Settings

Lanteria HR allows selecting the types of goals you use in the employees' performance assessment.

Follow these steps to select goal types:

1. Go to **Settings > Settings and Configuration > Performance**.
2. Click **Goals** in the left panel and select the necessary value from the **Employee Goal Types** drop-down box on the **Advanced** tab. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/c315c68d-2799-4fcc-9a39-084315b58f14/Images/Documentation/img477(1).png)
3. The available choices are:
  - **Quantitative** to use only quantitative goals
  - **Qualitative** to use only qualitative goals
  - **Both** to use goals of both types simultaneously
4. Click the **Apply Changes** button for the changes to take effect.

By default, **Employee Goal Types** are **Qualitative**.

You can choose to allow the employees to edit their goals during the performance review only. To do that:

1. Go to **Settings > Settings and Configuration > Performance**.
2. Click **Goals** in the left panel and select the **Allow Goal Editing During Review Only** check box on the **Advanced** tab.![](https://cdn.document360.io/c315c68d-2799-4fcc-9a39-084315b58f14/Images/Documentation/img478(3).png)
3. Click the **Apply Changes** button for the changes to take effect.

By default, the check box is cleared, which means that employees can edit their goals at any time.
