Follow these steps to create a certificate type: 1. Go to **Settings** > **Settings and Configuration** > **Learning**. 2. Click **Learning Catalog** in the left panel and click **Edit** next to the **Certificate Types** setting name on the **Basic** tab. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/c315c68d-2799-4fcc-9a39-084315b58f14/Images/Documentation/img404(2).png) 3. The **Certificate Types** list will open in spreadsheet view where you can directly edit the information you need. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/c315c68d-2799-4fcc-9a39-084315b58f14/Images/Documentation/img405(1).png) 4. Enter the type name into the **Title** column. 5. If necessary, enter the number of validity days in the **Validity** column. These validity days will be used to determine the certificate expiration date when the certificate is automatically generated or uploaded during [manual completion of the development activity](https://help.lanteria.com/docs/work-with-development-activities#marking-development-activity-complete). 6. Enter the name of the [content type](/v1/docs/certificates) to be used for the automatic certificate generation into the **Certificate Content Type** column. ## Related - [Learning Certificates](/learning-certificates.md)
