# Register Custom Absence Types

When an absence plan with a section for a dynamically created [custom absence type](/v1/docs/custom-absence-types-dynamic-absences) is assigned to an employee, they can view the accrued allowance for the new absence type and can send absence requests for absences of this type:![](https://cdn.document360.io/c315c68d-2799-4fcc-9a39-084315b58f14/Images/Documentation/img48.png)

Also the user can request **Extra Time Off** by sending a request for the new custom absence type. In this case, the user should select custom absence type in the **Absence Type List Info** field when filling out the **Extra Time Off** form. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/c315c68d-2799-4fcc-9a39-084315b58f14/Images/Documentation/img49.png)
