# Define Job Roles Requiring Succession

Follow these steps to mark a job role as the one to plan succession for:

1. In the **Core HR** section, select **Jobs and Positions**, and open the **Job Roles** list.

3. Select the **Succession Required** check box.
4. Save the changes.
