# Goal Ratings

Goal ratings are used to evaluate goals by manually assigning ratings to them. The goal rating, if specified, has higher priority than the percent complete, meaning that [total score](/v1/docs/performance-review-score-calculation) and [performance bonus](/v1/docs/bonus-calculation) will be calculated on the basis of goal rating in this case. Also, if the goal rating is assigned to a goal, it will be displayed in the performance review form instead of the percent complete.

Follow these steps to set up goal ratings:

1. Go to **Settings** > **Settings and Configuration** > **Performance**.
2. Click **Goals** in the left panel and click **Edit** next to the **Goal Ratings** setting name on the **Basic** tab. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/c315c68d-2799-4fcc-9a39-084315b58f14/Images/Documentation/img475(1).png)
3. The **Goals Rating** list will open in spreadsheet view where you can directly edit the information you need. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/c315c68d-2799-4fcc-9a39-084315b58f14/Images/Documentation/img474(4).png)
4. Enter the goal rating display name into the **Title** column.
5. Enter the numeric value corresponding to the display name into the **Score** column.
6. Enter the numeric value corresponding to the maximum possible score **MaxScore** column. The achieved goal score percent will be calculated as assigned score in relation to the maximum score.
