# Number of Future Training Budget Periods

If employees must have an opportunity to plan the paid development activities for the future budget periods, this can be achieved with the help of the Number of Future Training Budget Periods setting (Settings > Settings and Configuration > Learning, click Training > Number of Future Training Budget Periods).

For example, if the budget is allocated quarterly, and you want the employees to plan training for the year ahead, set the Number of Future Training Budget Periods to 3 and you will have the four budgets generated (one active and three future budgets). If the start date of the development activity belongs to a future budget period, the costs will be allocated from this period.
