# Learning Material Types

When [creating a learning material](https://help.lanteria.com/docs/learning-materials), the learning material type is specified. The following options will be available:

- **Mandatory Training** - [required](https://help.lanteria.com/docs/mandatory-trainings) training that will be [assigned as required](https://help.lanteria.com/docs/add-training-for-job-role-or-learning-group) to job roles
- **Development Training** - supplemental and/or external training
- **E-Learning Course** - the course that can be completed online
