Competency groups are second-level are second-level groups in the framework that cover more specific sets of skills within competency areas.
Note
The competency groups influence the competency total score calculations. Please take this into account when planning your groups. For more details on how the competency total score is calculated, refer to this article.
Follow these steps to create competency groups:
- Go to Settings > Settings and Configuration > Performance.
- Click Competencies in the left panel and click Edit next to the Competency Groups setting name on the Basic tab.
- The Competency Groups list will open in spreadsheet view where you can directly edit the information you need.
- Select the name of the competency area the group belongs to from the drop-down list in the Competency Area column.
- Enter the competency group name into the Competency Group column.
- Enter the competency group weight, i.e. the relative importance of the skills from this group, into the Weight column. The weight is then assigned automatically to this group’s competencies and is taken into account during the assessment.
- Enter a short description of the competency group into the Description column.
The created groups and their descriptions will be displayed in the competency framework grouped by the areas they belong to.
Note
To enable the option of using the competency group weight for competency score calculation, you should select the Weighted Groups check box located on the Advanced tab in Settings > Settings and Configuration > Performance > Competencies.
