Article Summary

A practicum can be added to a new or already existing course. The practicum results are tracked through the Manage Participants page of the scheduled classroom training, so please make sure that you are adding practicums only to the learning materials with the Event Required check box selected.

To create a practicum, follow these steps:

  1. When creating a new learning material, the practicum creation form will be open after saving your material. To open this form for an already existing course, click Learning > Learning Catalog, click the learning material name and then Actions Manage Practicum.
  2. To add a practicum to a learning material, click Add Practicum.
  3. In the form that opens, specify the practicum name and description.
  4. In the Percent of Total Result field, specify the percentage the current practicum contributes into the development activity total score. For example, if there are 2 practicums, one with 30% contribution and another with 70%. The result of the first practicum is 80% and of the second - 60%. The total score will be calculated as (30*80%) + (70*60%) = 66%
  5. Upload the document with the practicum task that will be available for the employee for downloading.
  6. Save the practicum.
