Competency level descriptions are necessary so that the assessment participants have a clear vision of what actions and behavior are expected for each level of every job role competency. The descriptions for the same level of a competency may vary across job roles which allows you to tailor them to your needs.
Follow these steps to set up competency level descriptions:
- Go to Settings > Settings and Configuration > Performance.
- Click Competencies in the left panel and click Edit next to the Competency Level Descriptions setting name on the Advanced tab.
- The Competency Level Descriptions list will open with descriptions grouped by competency and then by the job role.
- Click the new item button to add a competency level description.
- Select the competency to describe in the Competency field.
- Select the competency level that you plan to describe from the drop-down list in the Competency Level field.
- Enter the description for the competency level into the Description field.
- Select the job role this competency level description applies to from the drop-down list in the Job Role field.
These descriptions will be available in the competency framework when you open a competency.
