Competency Level Descriptions

Article Summary

Competency level descriptions are necessary so that the assessment participants have a clear vision of what actions and behavior are expected for each level of every job role competency. The descriptions for the same level of a competency may vary across job roles which allows you to tailor them to your needs.

Follow these steps to set up competency level descriptions:

  1. Go to Settings > Settings and Configuration > Performance.
  2. Click Competencies in the left panel and click Edit next to the Competency Level Descriptions setting name on the Advanced tab.
  3. The Competency Level Descriptions list will open with descriptions grouped by competency and then by the job role. 
  4. Click the new item button to add a competency level description.
  5. Select the competency to describe in the Competency field.
  6. Select the competency level that you plan to describe from the drop-down list in the Competency Level field.
  7. Enter the description for the competency level into the Description field.
  8. Select the job role this competency level description applies to from the drop-down list in the Job Role field.

These descriptions will be available in the competency framework when you open a competency.
